Description
The Plaisterers Arms is a coaching house dating from the 18th century, with some elements from the 17th century. It features a smooth rendered exterior with alternating raised quoins at the right-hand end, a concrete tile roof, a coped gable, and a brick stack. The left end of the building has been cut back to accommodate a later adjoining structure.
The building is two storeys high with an attic and a basement, and it has four windows that contain sash windows with glazing bars. There is a small single light window in the gable for the roof space on the right side. On the ground floor, there are two hexagonal bays with glazing bar sashes and flat roofs, and centrally positioned is a pair of four-panel doors set in a moulded surround, with a stack to the far left. A door leads to a through-way; this opening and the window above it are immediately adjacent to the adjoining premises. At the back of the building, at the basement or garden level, there is a two-light chamfered mullion window.
