Description
Stone House is a house that has been converted into an office. It was built in the early 19th century and is constructed from squared coursed limestone. The building features a plain string course at the first floor level and a Welsh slate roof with coped gables, a central stack, and a gable stack on the right side.
The house is two storeys high and has four windows on the front, which are 16-pane sashes with glazing bars and stone cills on the first floor. The ground floor has been modified in the 20th century, with a blocked door opening on the extreme left. There are two hexagonal bays with stone mullions and stone slate hipped roofs. On the right side, there is an off-centre five-panel door beneath a three-pane transom light, which is topped with a flat stone hood that has a moulded edge supported by stone consoles.
It is likely that the building was originally constructed as two cottages. Stone House is included in the heritage register primarily for its group value.
