Description
The barn at King's Farm, dated 'T.H. 1805' for Thomas Hancox, is a Grade II listed building constructed of random rubble limestone with a stone slate roof. It features five bays and has porches on both the east and west sides. Each side has a gabled central porch with a doorway that has a timber lintel, and there are 2-light timber loft openings in each gable, also with timber lintels. The east porch includes an owl hole, and there are slit vents on the south gable end and another owl hole. Inside, the barn has a 5-bay collar and tie-beam truss roof with two rows of purlins and a loft above each porch. The roof was noted to be in poor condition at the time of the survey in July 1986.
