Description

Daneway Bridge is a road bridge over the canal, built around 1785 for the Thames and Severn Canal. It is constructed of dressed limestone, with some areas of brick patching, and features dressed and squared coping. The bridge has a semi-circular arch lined with brick and plain curved retaining walls that end in square terminal piers. The west side shows significant brick patching, while the east side is more intact. The approach road is raised on an embankment that crosses the valley bottom.
