Description
The Thatched Cottage is a semi-detached cottage, originally built as a detached structure, likely dating from the late 15th century or early 16th century. It was refaced, probably in the 18th century, and restored in the 20th century. The cottage features brick-faced timber framing with a cruck framed roof. The left side is finished in roughcast and sits on a plinth, topped with a thatched roof that has a decorative ridge and is half-hipped to the left. There is an inserted stone stack. The building has a single range that is one storey high, with an added upper floor and a large gable on the right side of the front. The windows are scattered and consist of 20th-century two or three-light lattice casements with timber lintels. A 20th-century plank door is located to the left of the gable. The interior is not accessible.
