Description

Hemlock Well House is a mid-18th century building located on Spring Lane. It features an ashlar front and a pitched slate roof, rising to three storeys. The house has a moulded eaves cornice and a pediment supported by two corbels above the two northern bays, with a parapet along the roof elsewhere. There are four ranges of double-hung sash windows with glazing bars. The entrance includes a six-panel door topped by an oblong fanlight, situated in a porch that has a corbelled hood. Hemlock Well House is part of a group with Nos 54 to 60 on the south side of Lower Street and Nos 3 to 5 on the north side of Lower Street.
