Description
This building, located approximately 20 meters south of Pipers Cottage, is a detached house that likely originated as two separate houses. It dates from the mid to late 18th century and is constructed of random rubble limestone, which is all painted with grey wash. The house features brick chimneys and a stone slate roof, and it is two stories tall.
The front of the house has two gabled eaves-mounted dormers, each containing a two-light chamfered mullioned leaded casement window. To the right, there is a two-light casement window on the ground floor, along with two doorways that have plank doors; one of these doorways is accompanied by a gabled timber porch. There are two chimneys mounted on the ridge of the roof.
On the south end of the building, there is an enlarged two-light casement window on the ground floor within the gable end, with the original casement window located above it. A single stair-light at the center of the rear wall has been blocked. The interior has not been inspected but appears to be un-modernised. The house occupies an important position on an island site in the center of the village.
