Description
The Horrell monument is a slab memorial located in the churchyard approximately 5 meters south of the south chapel of the Church of St. George. It dates from 1787 and features an inscription plate engraved by Cook of Minchinhampton. The monument is made of limestone and includes a brass plate. It consists of a monolithic slab with a round-topped plate inscribed to Elizabeth Horrell, the wife of Samuel Horrell of the Parish of Rodborough, a clothier who died in 1787. This monument is a notable example of the local traditional type of memorial.
