Description
Hiltmead is a late 17th-century farmhouse located in Haresfield, featuring a timber-framed structure with rectangular panels and some long diagonal bracing, along with painted brick infill. The building sits on a stone plinth, which is covered at the front with chamfered rendering. It has a concrete tile roof and a very large stepped external brick stack on the left-hand side, with a smaller brick end stack on the rear wing. The layout is T-shaped, consisting of a single-storey and attic front range and a two-storey rear wing. There is also an additional lean-to and a 20th-century rear wing in the right-hand rear angle, which are not of special interest. The front features two raking two-light dormers, and the ground floor has single or two-light 20th-century casements, along with a 20th-century brick gabled porch and door located in the center.
