No. 35 Southgate Street is a shop and former dwelling that dates from the late 16th century or early 17th century, with later alterations. The building features a timber frame with a stuccoed front and a slate roof, arranged in a double-depth block.

The exterior consists of three storeys. The front has a late 20th-century shop front, while each of the upper floors has a single sash window with glazing bars; the first floor has windows with four panes by four panes, and the second floor has windows with four panes by three panes. The interior has not been inspected.
