Description

The remains of a range of monastic buildings are located on the south side of the Inner Court of the Augustinian Priory of Llanthony Secunda, dating from the early 16th century. The structure is built of random bond brick with limestone quoins and dressings, featuring a rectangular plan.

On the north elevation, there are stone quoins surrounding a large inserted double doorway and former windows on two floors, all of which are now blocked. To the right on the first floor, there is a four-centred window with sunk spandrels, along with three corbels for beams supporting a lean-to that has a large window. To the left, a wide blocked doorway is framed by a large four-centred chamfered arch. The left (east) end is truncated and features 19th-century brickwork.

The west elevation has three windows on the first floor and two on the ground floor, all with chamfered architraves and sunk spandrels. There is a splayed course of slabs above the projecting ground floor.

Additionally, a wall projects north from the west end, constructed of brick for 10 meters and then rubble for 3 meters, featuring a stone arched window. This wall is truncated and originally connected the range between the inner and outer courts.
