Description
Ruddle Court Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 17th century. It has a rendered exterior and a concrete plain tile roof. The building is a long narrow block, with a left section added to the original structure, and a projecting stair unit at the back on the right. There was a former through passage to the right, with the main stack located at the far left of the original building and a second stack at the right gable; both stacks are doubled and set diagonally.
The farmhouse has three storeys and five windows: on the ground floor, there is one two-light window, one blank space, and three three-light windows; on the first floor, there are three or two-light windows, all under segmental heads; the top floor features small under-eaves openings, including one two-light window on the left and three blank openings. Inside, there are many stop-chamfered beams with run-out stops on brackets across the depth of the building. The stairwell is likely located to the left of the main fireplace leading to the main roof. A door that was formerly in the fourth bay, which led to the cross passage, has been replaced with a recent door at the back of the building.
