Description
The Hayle monument, located about 6 meters south of the porch in the churchyard of the Church of St. Michael and All Angels, is a headstone commemorating Anne, the wife of John Hayle, who died in 1682. The stone features a deeply recessed panel with an inscription. Above this panel is a shaped top that repeats the year, supported by a pulvinated frieze with square blocks at both ends and in the center. This monument is the best preserved among several late 17th-century monuments in the area. It showcases good, flowing lettering and includes an inscription followed by a four-line verse. The monument is in good condition.
