Description
This is an unidentified chest tomb located about 7.5 meters south of the chancel door in the churchyard of the Church of St. Michael and All Angels. It dates from the late 18th century and is made of limestone with a sandstone top. The tomb features a flat lid with a moulded edge and fielded panels on the north and south faces, which originally contained inscriptions. The ends of the tomb have a moulded cornice and base, with a fielded panel in between that is slightly narrower than the main width of the tomb. The entire structure is set on a cyma base. The only legible inscription is the latest, which records that Thomas Hart died in 1873.
