Description
The Old Vicarage is a former vicarage that has been converted into a private house, dating from the mid to late 19th century. It is constructed of coursed and dressed rubblestone with a slate roof, featuring diagonally-set paired brick stacks at both ends and one at the rear. Originally, the building was a single range with a slightly projecting gable at the west end facing the road, later modified with an additional projecting gable in the center during the 19th century.
The structure has two storeys and an attic. The front facade includes three windows: on the left and right are triple light 10-pane casements, each adorned with steeply angled voussoir blocks that have a chamfered edge. The projecting gable features a twin casement window beneath a cambered head with voussoirs. Above the right-hand window, there is a cruciform vent in the roof. The linear facade, likely the original main front, displays three triple light windows with pointed arches set between wooden mullions, all under hood moulds. The central arched doorway, also under a hood mould, has double panelled doors with an inner door in a similar arched style. The roofline is characterized by a central battlemented section flanked by gables that feature decorative bargeboards. Inside, the property retains its original doors, doorcases, and a stick baluster staircase.
