Description
The David Ansell monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St John the Baptist, approximately 8 meters northeast of the chancel. It commemorates David Ansell, who died in 1803. The tomb is made of limestone and features a moulded plinth. On the north side, there is a sunken inscription plaque bordered by fluted marginal panels. The south side has a fielded plain inscription plaque, also flanked by fluted marginal panels. The monument is topped with a moulded capping that includes stepped and hipped upper capping stones.
