Description

Manor Cottage is a detached cottage dating to the 19th century, with a later 19th-century extension. It is constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone, with a stone slate roof and ashlar stacks. The building has a rectangular plan, incorporating the rear extension. It is two storeys high, with a three-windowed front facade. The windows are 2-light iron casements with diamond-leaded panes, each with a stopped hood. A former central doorway has been blocked, and replaced with a window. Access is now gained via a 19th-century plank door with strap hinges in the rear extension. A flat-chamfered stone-mullioned window is located to the right of the former doorway. The main part of the cottage has gable-end stacks with moulded cappings and skirtings. The interior remains uninspected. This building holds group value from its contribution to the historic character of Great Rissington village.
