Description

These garden walls and gatepiers date from 1906 to 1909 and were likely designed by E Guy Dawber. The walls are constructed of drystone rubble, with brick detailing to the archways in the southeastern wall. The northeastern and southeastern walls stand approximately 8 to 9 feet high. The northeastern wall includes statues, carvings, and a central recess. The southeastern wall features two ramps leading to ornamental finials and a central feature that incorporates drum columns supporting a hipped roof, along with outer archways; one of these archways is blind. The northwestern wall is a lower dwarf wall composed of two quadrants and tall rubble piers topped with gadrooned urn finials. Matching tiers and finials define the entrance to the carriage sweep in front of the house.
