Description
The lodge and gatepiers at the entrance to the half-mile drive leading to Nether Swell Manor were built around 1903, designed by architect E Guy Dawber. The structure is made of rubble with ashlar quoins and features a Cotswold stone roof with coped verges and cut finials. It has an asymmetrical plan with a roughly central chimney and is 1½ storeys high, gabled to the front. The lodge includes a range of mullion windows with two and three lights, which have drips on the east, south, and west sides. The south gable extends down over a Tudor arch doorway, sharing a drip with the window. The entrance to the drive is framed by tall ashlar gatepiers that have moulded cornices and ball-finials.
