Description

Old Forge Cottage and attached outbuilding are a cottage and former smithy, dating to the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and modernisation in the 1980s. The cottage is built of rubble with a roof of Cotswold stone, featuring an ashlar chimney in the east gable. It originally had a cross-gabled layout, with an 'L' plan wing connecting to the former forge. The building has two storeys and attics, including a gabled dormer on the south side and a range of windows. The L-plan extension has two mid-19th century casement windows. The former forge outbuilding to the south has a range of windows and an irregular opening, and is roofed with corrugated asbestos.
