Description
The Stapler's House is an early mid-17th century building. It is constructed of ashlar-faced rubble with a Cotswold stone roof, and has grouped chimneys set back. The front features two tall Cotswold dormers with saddle stones, and two-light stone mullion windows with drips; the gables have small side lights. Below are two ranges of three-light stone mullion windows. A Tudor arched doorway is centrally located. The building follows a through passage plan and incorporates a further Tudor arched doorway to the rear. Ground and first floor rooms feature Tudor arched fireplaces. A two-storey, three-window extension and a large chimney extension are situated to the rear. Side walls show substantial traces of timber framing.
