Description
This building is a block of three houses located on the corner of Church Street, known as Wixley Cottage and Hinks Cottages, and dates from around 1840. It is constructed from coursed squared rubble and features a low-pitched Welsh slate roof that is hipped at the corner facing Church Street. The building has three storeys and a total of seven windows facing Leysbourne. The ground and first floors have 16-pane sash windows, while the upper floor features 8-pane windows and two small 20-pane shop windows. There are two plain panelled doors, one of which has a stone hood supported by brackets. The doorway and windows on the canted end are now blocked. The front of the building is similar along Church Street. This block is an important part of the view along High Street, with the church tower visible behind it.
