Description

This building, located at 76-82 Cricklade Street in Cirencester, consists of three houses that likely date from the 18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. The exterior is made of coursed squared limestone rubble, featuring a stone slate roof on the right side and a concrete tile roof on the left. There is a shared stone ridge stack rebuilt in brick at the top between the houses on the right, a rear axial stack on the left with its upper part also rebuilt in brick, and brick stacks at the ends of the gabled rear wings on both sides. Additionally, there is a stone stack with its top rebuilt in brick next to the rear wing on the right.

The building is two storeys high with an attic and has a four-window range. On the first floor, there are four long narrow 4/4-pane windows, with three sashes on the right and one 20th-century window on the left. The ground floor features a similar 20th-century window on the left, two 20th-century plate glass shop windows in the centre and on the right, a 20th-century door in a plain reveal with a flat-arch lintel on the left, a glazed door in the centre, and another 20th-century glazed door in a plain reveal with a flat-arch lintel on the right. There are two gabled dormers with 2-light timber casements. To the centre left, there is a broad entrance to a through passage that has a segmental-headed arched lintel. The rear wing on the right has two long sashes on the first floor that are similar to those at the front. The interiors have not been inspected.
