Description
Norton Hall Farmhouse is a house built in the mid-19th century. It is constructed from limestone ashlar with a stone slate roof, and features a brick service wing with a Welsh slate roof. The building is designed in a double pile Jacobean revival style and has two storeys plus an attic, with the service wing located at the west end.
The north and south elevations each have three windows and a central doorway. On the south side, there are eight-light mullioned and transomed windows, along with a four-light window above the doorway, which has a beaded surround and a stone hood supported by curved stone brackets. The north side features six-light windows, with no window above the doorway, which is sheltered by a timber porch. Additionally, there are two six-light windows located below the central valley at the east end. A plain band runs along the upper floor level, rising over the south doorway. All windows have hood mouldings, and there are four chimneys with moulded caps. The service wing has brick arched window openings, and while the windows in both the service wing and the main house are 20th-century replacements, they all feature leaded glass.
