Description

This is a group of three chest tombs located approximately 3 meters from the south wall of the nave of the Church of St Peter in Cirencester. They date from the early, mid, and late 18th century and are made of limestone.

The first tomb features panelled ends and a heavy ledger dedicated to Henry Stevens, who died in 1743, and his wife Elizabeth Stevens. The second is a plain early 18th-century chest tomb with a heavy ledger. The third tomb has raised circular panels on the ends, torches on the sides, and a moulded ledger for Mary Blackwell, who died in 1785.
