Description

Three monuments, including the Thomas Trubie monument, are located approximately 8 to 10 meters south of the chancel in Little Rissington. The group includes a chest tomb and two headstones, all made of limestone.

The chest tomb is dedicated to Thomas Trubie, dated 1619, and John Truby, who died in 1759. It features a squared-off plinth with a deeply incised inscription at the east end for Thomas Trubie and another inscription at the west end for John Truby. The tomb is capped with a deep flat-chamfered design.

The two headstones, situated about 3 meters to the south, share a similar design but vary in size. The left-hand headstone is dated 1712, while the right-hand headstone is dated 1711. Both headstones have partially legible inscriptions and are adorned with moulded margins. Each headstone has a single head at the top, flanked by scrolls featuring fruit and flowers below.
