Description
No. 21 Church Street is a house in a terrace, dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed of random coursed rubble stone with large quoins on the right and around the windows. The roof is covered with asbestos slate and features a parapet and a small moulded cornice, along with two large stone stacks at the ends.
The front of the house has two windows, which are 12-pane sashes topped with open triangular wood pediments on consoles. The second floor has similar, smaller windows. On the ground floor, there is a central narrow plain opening with a plain lintel and a 20th-century glazed door, flanked by two long plate glass windows that have keystones and voussoirs. Originally, these windows also featured open pediments and consoles, with marks still visible on the stonework. To the right, there is an open pedimented doorcase with panelled pilasters on pedestals and a six flush panel door, of which the top two panels are glazed. A cellar window is located to the left.
