Description
Star Farmhouse is a farmhouse that was formerly known as an inn called The Star and Garter. It has a core dating from the late 17th century, with 18th century additions to the south and a one bay addition at the northeast corner. The building is constructed of rubble stone with flush quoins and features a Cotswold stone slate roof. It has a double range design with two stone gable stacks and three additional scattered stacks.
On the west side, there is a gabled entrance porch located in the center, which was completely overgrown at the time of the survey in August 1984. To the left of the porch, there is a 20th century window. The first floor contains three 20th century casement windows and two small gabled dormers. The south wing also has 20th century windows. The rear facade features twin gables in the center, with a semi-circular stone projection on the ground floor between them. The south wing includes a doorway topped with a flat stone hood in a half-hexagon shape.
