Description
Church Gates is an early 18th-century building that incorporates earlier fabric, and was remodelled in the early 20th century. It is constructed of coursed, squared rubble with a Cotswold stone roof. The building is two storeys and has an attic. The ground floor features a plain central doorway flanked by small-paned bows. There are two modern three-light casement windows above. A gabled dormer is situated in the same plane as the wall face. Ashlar stacks are located at either end of the ridge. A mid-19th century dwarf wall with railings runs in front of the property; the railings have scrollwork panels in the centre of each section, flanking a later gate. Extensions extend to the rear in three ranges, forming the picturesque west side of the churchyard, and including a walled garden. Inside, the rear part of the building features stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
