Description
This is a house located at 11 Park Street in Cirencester, dating from the mid to late 17th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a roof with stone slates on the front slope and Welsh slate on the rear. There is a rebuilt brick stack on the right end of the front slope, positioned just below the ridge. The house has two gables facing the street and is two storeys high with an attic, comprising a two-window range.
On the first floor, there are two 17th-century three-light stone-mullion windows with chamfered edges and hoodmoulds, along with two similar two-light windows with hoodmoulds in the gables above. The ground floor has two three-light windows with hoodmoulds that match those above. To the left of the façade, there is a plank door set in a chamfered stone surround with a Tudor-arched head.
Inside, the house features a small winder staircase and beams that have step and run-out stops. The ground floor front left room includes a late 18th-century stone chimneypiece, which is said to have been added by the local blacksmiths, Gillman's, in the 19th century. This property has been occupied by a tenant since 1915.
