Description
The barn at Lodge Farm, located about 50 meters north of the Church of St Mary, is a large structure likely built in the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed from random coursed rubble stone with alternating flush quoins and features a corrugated asbestos roof that has been reported as re-slated. The barn has two central projecting gabled cart entries, each with a timber lintel, double timber doors, and a segmental arch on the wall plane. There are slit vents on each side, with some partially blocked on the northwest side, which also has a large cat-slide lean-to with four small openings that are mostly blocked. An owl hole is present at the apex of the west gable end. The interior consists of nine bays, with four collar and tie-beam trusses on the west side and the remainder supported by king-post trusses.
