Description

Priory Cottage is a large cottage that likely dates from the late 16th century to early 17th century. It is constructed of rubble stone with some roughcast and features a stone slate roof. The building has stone end stacks, with one stack located externally to the left and another at the rear. It is a single range, two storeys high with an attic. The windows are scattered and include renewed two, three, or four-light lattice casements with timber lintels. To the right of the centre, there is a large half-glazed six-panel door, with the top three panels being glazed and the lower three being flush. The cottage also has two gabled dormers, each with twin casements. Inside, the ground floor features very large chamfered beams and an oak bressumer fireplace at the left end, which has been partially filled in.
