Description
A row of nine headstones is located in the churchyard of the Church of St Peter, approximately 7 metres east of the south porch. These monuments date from the late 18th century to the early 19th century and are made of limestone.
From left to right, the first five headstones are mostly early 19th century in date and share a similar design associated with the Bennett family. The inscriptions on these stones are either fully or partially legible and feature cartouche-like surrounds with a winged cherub's head at the top. Next is a similar but earlier headstone that has an eroded inscription plaque. Following that is a plain segmental-headed stone that is initialled and dated '(?)C.B / 1730'. Finally, there is a headstone dated 1671, which has a square inscription plaque with a moulded margin and a head at the centre, flanked by scrollwork.
