Description
A small barn, likely dating from the late 18th or early 19th century, is located at Lower Hazelcote. The barn incorporates a cartshed at its southeast end and a loft above. Constructed of random coursed rubble stone, it has a half-hipped roof covered in stone slates. The northeast side features a projecting hipped cart entry with a timber lintel. Flanking the cart entry are lean-tos; the one to the right has been re-roofed with concrete tiles and incorporates a doorway and a small window. To the left of the cart entry is a two-bay open cartshed, beyond a small section with a doorway. An opposed raking entry is situated at a low level, with a lean-to on the left side. To the right of this entry, a flight of stone steps leads to a loft door and two small single windows. The interior was inaccessible at the time of survey in March 1986.
