Description
Luckley Farm Barn is a barn and attached formerly open-fronted store built around 1840, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone and features a stone slate roof. The barn is rectangular in shape, with two projecting porches and later lean-tos added on either side of the porches. There is a former open-fronted shed that projects at right angles to the far left.
The upper half of the bays of the formerly open-fronted store is lit by plate glass windows, while the lower part has 20th-century walling. To the left porch, there is a double plank door with a low 20th-century wall beneath it. Above this door is a fixed metal casement window with glazing bars and a gable dovecote. To the right of the porch, there is a single width stable door. The right-hand porch has a double width entrance with a plank door and a gable dovecote above it. The walls also feature triangular vents, which are now blocked.
Inside, a wall divides the barn into two sections, each with three bays. The right-hand end retains original collar and tie trusses, while the left end has similar trusses with diagonal struts connecting the upper surface of the collars to the principal rafters.
