Description
Cranmore Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1729, as indicated by the datestone on the porch. The building features roughcast walls and a rubble stone rear, topped with a hipped stone slate roof, while the rear wing has a pantile roof. The structure is L-shaped, with a small single-storey and attic wing at the rear and a single-storey hipped lean-to on the left side. It stands at two storeys with an attic.
The farmhouse has four windows, which include two-light stone mullions with square hoodmoulds, a three-light window to the left on the ground floor, and two two-light windows flanking the projecting gabled porch. All windows are of 20th-century casement type. The porch features a six-panel inner door with flush panels, the top two of which are glazed. It also has moulded stone side seats with small lights above, and the date is carved into the outer lintel, which has a square hoodmould.
At the rear, the fenestration is scattered, but there are some original stone windows along with others that have been restored, likely in the 19th century, on the projecting rear wing. The single-storey side wing to the right also has a pantile roof and is probably from the 19th century.
