Description
The Old Parsonage is a house set back from the road in a garden, dating from around 1700. It was extended and remodeled in the 19th century. The building is made of coursed rubble with Cotswold stone roofs and features gable end ashlar chimneys. It consists of one range in two parts running east-west, along with a range of extensions, partly built in brick, forming a T-plan to the north. The house has two storeys and a gable-lit attic. The larger section has two mullioned windows on the first floor facing north. The south front is more regular, with the main part featuring two-over-one windows, while the left-hand range has mullioned windows. There is a projecting gabled two-storey porch on the ground floor supported by stone columns. To the left is a lower mid-19th century wing with irregular casements. The building may have been constructed following the Enclosure Award of 1731 for Lower Slaughter.
