Description
Ford Cottage and Bridge Cottage are a pair of cottages located in Lower Slaughter. Ford Cottage dates back to the 17th century and was remodeled in the mid-19th century when Bridge Cottage was added in a matching style. Both cottages were modernized in the 20th century. They are constructed of rubble with a Cotswold stone roof and feature a central ashlar chimney. The buildings are two stories tall with an attic, each having one gabled dormer. Each cottage has one three-light mullion window, although only the ground floor window of Ford Cottage is original, and both have labels on the ground floor. There are outer doorways, with Bridge Cottage featuring a wooden porch. These cottages are included for their group value and are considered important in the village.
