Description

Dated 1899 and located on The Square in Lower Slaughter, St Kellams is a group of four cottages constructed of coursed rubble with Cotswold stone roofs. The design deliberately incorporates features reminiscent of the 17th and 18th centuries to harmonise with the surrounding architectural style. The cottages form an L-shaped block, with two facing south and two facing east.

The south elevation has one storey and an attic, displaying three windows with two and three-light wooden casements. Two of these windows are accentuated by stone architraves with keystones. Two gabled porches and two gabled half-dormers, all adorned with bargeboards, are present, alongside a single gabled dormer. Three ridge stacks are visible.

The east elevation is similar in design, except that the left-hand cottage is gabled and features two stone mullioned casements with drip moulds on both floors. The building is listed for group value.
