Description

These are almshouses located at 5, 7, and 9 Spitalgate Lane, dated 1826, with 20th-century alterations and extensions to the rear. The building is constructed of coursed squared limestone and features a stone slate roof with a brick ridge stack. It is a two-storey structure with a six-window range. On the first floor, there are four early 19th-century and two 20th-century two-light timber casement windows with glazing bars. The ground floor has six similar windows and three 20th-century glazed doors. The datestone on the center house (No. 7) has the incised lettering "REBUILT BY RICHARD WOOD 1826." The interiors have not been inspected.
