Description
Two chest tombs, dating from the early to mid-18th century, are located about 2 and 6 meters south-east of the porch in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary. They are made of limestone and feature flat tops, moulded plinths, and capping, with lyre-shaped ends. The northern tomb has additional lyre profiles on each side, plain incised ovals at the ends, and sides with shallow recessed ovals. At the time of the survey in February 1986, it was noted that the northern tomb was breaking up at the north-west corner. The southern tomb has shallow relief foliage at the ends, with the north side divided into two plain square panels featuring a low relief center strip, and the south side displaying a shallow rectangular panel flanked by floral relief strips.
