Description

Tollgate is an early 19th-century toll house. It is constructed of coursed rubble with a Cotswold stone roof, and has a hexagonal plan with a pyramid roof topped by a knob finial. The building has two storeys and a single window with sash glazing bars. The house to the left is of two builds, likely also early 19th century, using similar materials. This house is two and three storeys high, with three windows, one of which is only on the top floor. A modern gabled porch has been added. The two houses have differing roof slopes and ridge heights, and two stone stacks are present. The toll house itself is the principal feature of interest.
