Description
No. 7 Castle Street is a shop with offices above, dating from the late 18th century. The front is made of limestone ashlar, and it has a stone slate roof with a brick ridge stack that it shares with No. 5 Castle Street. The rear section is constructed from coursed squared limestone rubble and features an asbestos slate roof with a brick stack situated between the ranges. The building has a double-pile plan and is connected to No. 5 Castle Street. It is three stories tall and has a two-window range. On the first floor, there are two 8/8-pane sash windows with plain reveals and stone cills, while the second floor has two similar 4/4-pane sash windows. The ground floor features a pair of 20th-century plank doors on the right, alongside a shop front that includes a glazed door and a single plate glass window to the left, all set within a 20th-century surround that is highlighted by four pilaster strips and topped with a frieze and moulded cornice. The interior has not been inspected.
