Description

The barn at Waterton Barn Cottage is a Grade II listed structure dated 1771, as indicated on a beam within the building. It is constructed from random coursed rubble stone and features a stone slate roof. The barn has a projecting gable entry on the west side, which is supported by a large timber lintel, and a lean-to along the rest of the west side. It is a four-bay barn with collar and tie beam trusses and two trenched purlins. There is a first floor on the north side, and the north and east walls have splayed window openings. Additionally, there is a blocked low-level opposed entry on the east side.
