Description
The stable block at Chapter Manor is a large structure built in the mid-19th century, featuring accommodation at the west end. It is constructed from coursed rubble stone and has a stone slate roof with a half-hipped east end, while the rear has a partly concrete tile roof. The building is a long range of single storey and attic.
On the left side of the building, there is a prominent gable with a three-light casement window on the ground floor and a half-glazed loft door above, which has tiered dove perches in the apex and a hauling gantry to the right. To the west, there are two gabled dormers, a central door with a nine-pane light above, and a two-light casement window to the right. On the right side of the gable, there is one gabled dormer, a stable door with a nine-pane light above, and scattered windows. At the far right, there is a garage that may have been a former cartshed, along with a flight of nine stone steps leading up to a plank loft door.
