Description
This is a chest tomb from the mid-18th century, located about 6 meters south-west of the pair of Hall Monuments in the churchyard of the Church of St. Lawrence in Lechlade. It is made of limestone and features a flat top with a smaller tent cap that has a curved edge. The tomb has moulded capping and no visible plinth. The end panels are recessed, with a cherub head on the east side and an incised rectangular panel with a semi-circular projection at the top on the west side, along with recessed panelled returns. The side panels are recessed as well, plain on the south side and adorned with two cherub heads on the north side. At the time of the survey in March 1985, the cap was broken, and the east end was moving out.
