Description
This small barn, dating from the mid to late 18th century, is located approximately 9 meters west of the Church of St Mary. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, featuring large dressed stone quoins. The barn has a corrugated iron roof, while an extension has a slate roof. The building has a rectangular plan with an extension on the right gable end. There is a brick extension on the left gable end, which is not considered of special interest.
The north side of the barn has a high central double-width entrance that faces the path to the church, and there is a low, almost single-width doorway on the opposite wall. Triangular ventilation slits are present in the side walls and the east gable end. Inside, the barn consists of three bays with original collar and tie-beams and double butt purlins. This barn is part of a closely-knit group with the church and village hall, contributing to its group value.
