Description
The boathouse and dovecote in the grounds of Fullwood, associated with Cheltenham and Gloucester College, dates from before 1887. It is constructed of timber and features a tarpaulin roof. The gable end facing the lake has a wide, divided cambered-arched opening. The opposite gable end is taller and includes two plank doors, a round-arched casement window in the gable, and is topped by an octagonal dovecote with a weathervane at the apex. This structure is depicted on a map from 1887 and is an important part of the suburban setting of this significant 19th-century development, forming a cohesive group with Fullwood.
