Description
The porch to Abbot's Hall, located in the grounds of the Bedford Hotel, dates from the late 15th century or early 16th century. It is likely a later addition to Abbot's Hall, which is associated with the Abbey Chapel at Abbey Place. The structure features a square, two-storey granite tower with angle pinnacles. There is an archway that once led to the Unitarian Chapel, but this has now been blocked. Inside the porch, there is a well-crafted vaulted ceiling adorned with carved bosses. This site is also designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
