Description

Nos. 7-19 North Street is a row of seven cottages, with one dated 1711, likely indicating that this date applies to all of them, although they may contain some earlier materials. The cottages feature rendered cob walls and a slate roof that is hipped at the left end and gabled at the right. There are four rendered stone stacks with drip moulds, all positioned axially except for one at the right gable end.

The cottages are arranged in pairs, with a communal recessed porch that has a door on either side for each cottage, except for No. 19, which stands alone. They are two storeys tall, and each cottage has an asymmetrical one-window front. No. 7 has mid to late 20th-century two-light casements without glazing bars, and next to its first-floor window is a slate plaque inscribed "John Loveday Durent 1711." It also features a 20th-century part-glazed door to the right in the recessed porch.

No. 9 has a 20th-century part-glazed door to the left and mid-19th-century sashes, tripartite on the ground floor. Nos. 11 and 13 share a central recessed porch with 20th-century double-glazed doors, and both have mid to late 20th-century casements without glazing bars. Nos. 15 and 17 also share a recessed porch with doors on either side. No. 15 has small-paned early 20th-century three and two-light casements and a four-panel 19th-century door. No. 17 features an early 20th-century two-light small-paned casement on the first floor and a later 20th-century three-light window below, along with a 20th-century plank door. No. 19 has three-light early 20th-century casements and a 20th-century plank and glazed door to the left. The interiors have not been inspected.
